Orange County's longest running Children's Theatre
Celebrating 40 years of service to the kids of OC
Prepare 16 bars of a song. This can be any Broadway show tune or old standard song. A new popular song you hear on the radio isn't usually a
good choice. You can bring sheet music for the song, or a CD without vocals (like a Karaoke version).. A piano accompanist will be provided at
auditions to play your sheet music for you. You MUST have a prepared song to audition.

· Wear comfortable clothes to move freely in, you will learn a simple dance.

Be prepared to list date conflicts you might have with other school performance or sports groups.
We expect honesty at auditions.
Late additions to conflicts may result in recasting or dismissal from the production and forfiture of cast fees.

Have a parent or guardian present to sign permission slips.

At OCCT we understand that some actors prefer to list only the roles they will accept. We understand that kids are all busy and have other options
for performance and activities. Please understand that this action may exclude you from the production. We do ask that if you do specify a role, and
you are given that role, please accept the role. Changing your mind a few days after auditions is not fair to the other kids trying out for that part, or
the director and staff who may have to reshuffle the whole cast or find a replacement.

At OCCT, we work very hard to make sure the every cast member get's their moment on stage. Our directors and producers see to it that each and
every actor get to be an important part of the production. We take great pride in our attention to our ensemble roles.

Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday from 6 - 9 pm. Saturday rehearsals are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Not all actors are called to every rehearsal.
Telegrammers rehearsals begin about 6 week prior to opening night and last about 2 hours on Saturdays only.
You accept the responsibility to check the web-site and be present and on time.

Telegrammer Auditions
The audition process for Telegrammers is differnt form the Regular Cast.
The Telegrammers are asked to go onstage, as a group and they will be taught a few dance steps.
After the lesson, they will be asked to perform the dance as a group.
Then they will be asked to Slate (Say their Name and Age) and sing a song.
This can perform a prepared song , 16 bars, or, if they have do not have a song,
we will ask them to sing Happy Birthday or another song familiar to them.
Our goal is to determine if the child is comfortable on stage and if they can take direction.

We are a parent run organization. No one other than the 3 directors receive a salary.
Therefore, ALL parents must serve a minimum of 20 hours.
Additional hours may be required for large productions.

Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people develop their acting, singing and dance skills. With that goal if any child,
parent or adult acts in what is perceived as other than responsible, respectable and dedicated manner they may be dismissed from the show.
Call backs are by invitation only and you will be asked to read from prepared sides, dance and sing.
Always check the hot line (714)502-2244 and the occt.org website.

Disney’s Aladdin Junior brings the famous movie to life again on stage. In Agrabah, City of
Enchantment, every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail! Aladdin, a kind but wily street
urchin, falls in love with beautiful Princess Jasmine. It just so happens that the Sultan has declared
that Princess Jasmine must choose a husband within the next day. After she turns down the offers
from various wealthy suitors, Aladdin and the evil Jafar duke it out for Jasmine’s love. With a little
help from a wacky genie, Aladdin manages to win Jasmine’s hand in marriage.
